Numbers Ch. 20:1-13 Journal - Use the Quiet Time Response Guide to respond to today’s Bible reading/lesson.

As you watch today’s video, be sure to write in your journal what you learn as well as writing down any questions you have.

Deuteronomy Ch. 6 Journal - Use the Quiet Time Response Guide to respond to today’s Bible reading/lesson.

Art supplies such as colored pencils, markers and/or crayons. Read ICJH Chapter 3: The “Odd Planet” (Click here to open Amazon's Kindle Cloud Reader) Watch the following four short videos (remember to write down in your journal any interesting facts you learn as well as questions you have):

If Earth Were Half Its Size (~5 min)

What If The Earth Were Twice As Big? (~3 min)

What Would Happen If The Moon Disappeared? (~4 min)

This fantastic video explains that the conditions for life are incredibly unlikely and are evidence of a designer.

Does Science Argue For or Against God? (~6 min)

Using colored pencils/markers/crayons, draw several different earths in your journal. One of these earths should be our earth as it is now. The rest should have characteristics that would make them unable to support life. Explain your pictures to a friend or family member. Choose a man-made object. Why do you think that this object is man-made and that it didn’t just happen? Ask kids to share what they have written in their journals and give them time to ask all of their questions. If you don’t know the answer, look it up together. Give kids a stamp or sticker in their journal when you are finished.

City of David and Hezekiah’s Tunnel In Jerusalem (~10 min)

Read the following article from the Biblical Archaeology Society: King Hezekiah in the Bible: Royal Seal of Hezekiah Comes to Light Find the answer to the following question in the article you’ve just read. Write the answers in your journal.

• What inscription was written on the royal seal of Hezekiah stamped on the bulla mentioned in the article? (The bulla discovered in the Ophel excavations).

Find the answers to the following questions in your Bible and write the answers in your journal along with the Bible references:

• Who was King Hezekiah’s father?
• What nation/people did King Hezekiah rule over?

The following is a link to a website that has a fun activity useful for demonstrating plate tectonics using graham crackers: Modeling Plate Tectonics Ask kids to share what they have written in their journals and give them time to ask all of their questions. If you don’t know the answer, look it up together. Give kids a stamp or sticker in their journal when you are finished.

Ruth Ch. 1-2 Journal - Use the Quiet Time Response Guide to respond to today’s Bible reading/lesson.

Give kids the opportunity to share what they have written in their journals and to ask any lingering questions. If you don’t know the answer to a question, look it up together with the child. Specific instructions for this time are outlined below. Meet with each child individually. And ask the following questions:

• How did your Quiet Times go this week?
• What did you feel like God was telling you this week? (They can share their answers from their Quiet Time Response Guide if they want to - don’t pressure them).
• What questions did you have this week about the lessons or from your quiet times that haven’t been answered yet?
• Has this been a good week for you? Why or why not?
• What was your favorite thing that you learned this week?

Give them a stamp or sticker in their journal for work well done today. Give them their Mom/Dad and Me Journal (for writing notes back and forth between them and mom or dad [or facilitator]). Each Friday they will get their journal and can write a note to Mom/Dad and then return the journal to Mom/Dad. During the week Mom/Dad will respond to their note in the journal and return it to them on Friday with a hug and a smile :)
